That’s Not Cool

The untimely death of 15 year old Phoebe Prince two weeks ago in Massachusetts is only the latest in a line of youth who feel there is only one last response in a string of posts, texts, and chats that chase them into and beyond the classroom walls.  In an age where parents feel pressured to give out cell phones with unlimited text plans and permission to have facebook accounts before driver’s licenses, it’s not hard to understand why fewer conversations about kindness and healthy relationships aren’t happening between parents, mentors, and youth.

February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.  For more information, a website every child and teen should visit, and helpful resources for starting important conversations, visit That’s Not Cool.
